Never thought we would enjoy the cottages as much as we have. This is our second summer up in Muskoka and all of our expectations were not only met but exceeded. The cottages are amply furnished and stocked with kitchen items. This is our little "castle" up north and we just love it here. Staff is fantastic - if we ever need anything or don't understand how to use something, Scott makes sure it is taken care of immediately. This was one of the best decisions we ever made.

It was a perfect mid-summer’s day in 2010 and my husband and I were spending the night at our friend’s cottage on beautiful Lake Rosseau in the Muskokas. Our friend’s suggested that we boat over to Windermere House to have dinner at the pub which sounded like a great plan to us. As we boated, our friend pointed out cottages that were for sale on the lake and then started telling us about some of the fractional ownerships available – he said that in fact there were cottages with fractional ownership that had just been recently built right at Windermere. As we pulled up to the docks in front of Windermere we were instantly intrigued by the beautiful cottages adjacent to the lodge. We took a walk past them and then went and had a great meal outdoors at the pub. After dinner we moved upstairs to PJ’s Lobby Bar to meet up with some more friends and live entertainment was playing. What a great place to be!! At about 10:00 at night my friend informed us that the owner of Windermere was at the bar. My husband approached him and said we were only there for the night and would love to see one of the cottages. With our luck both of the salesmen were there and said they would gladly take us over. It was love at first sight – the cottage was spectacular! You must know – we are not impulsive people but by midnight we were the proud owners of a seven week fractional.
I woke the next morning and thought “what have we done”. We really were not in the market for a cottage although we had recently started talking about it. We drove back to Windermere on our way home to take another look at the cottage – again totally in love as soon as we walked through the door. Yes this was a great decision! We chose our weeks and came home – anxious to spent our first week at our new investment.
We have since spent time during every season at the cottage and never for one second regretted our very impulsive decision. We have seen the leaves change colour, watched the deer roam through the snow on the golf course and around the cottage, boated on beautiful Lake Rosseau, golfed, ate at all the amazing venues at Windermere, and woke up to a view of the Lake that I feel so blessed to be able to experience. We get to benefit all this perfection without the worries of full ownership cottagers because when we leave the cottage is cared for. We don’t have to drive home thinking – “Did we leave anything plugged in?Did we lock up? Did we take the garbage out?” It is all stress free.
I am looking forward to making years of happy memories at the Cottages at Windermere. Life doesn’t get better than this!
